The
10-20% remaining surface soil not taken up by dust mopping can
be removed by the process known as wet mopping.
This involves the use of a wet mop that is first
immersed into a bucket containing a solution of general purpose
neutral cleaner, wrung out, and then applied to soil-spotted
hallways, offices, dining areas and other work areas. A
disinfectant cleaner is used for wet mopping washroom,
vending, and food serving areas. Entry ways and other
heavy traffic areas are the usual places where wet mopping is
done most frequently.
No rinsing is necessary following this process because
a neutral cleaner contains neither strong alkaline nor acid
additives.
