FREQUENCIES OF CLEANING

The frequency of cleaning schedules can vary depending upon the budget.  The objective should be to create a safe environment that is comfortable to work in and be proud of.  Because frequencies are determined by the amount of money available, they can vary.  However, the defects of cleaning are still prioritized into three categories:

Primary (Daily)- Knowing that it is important to make a good first impression and eliminate dirt at the source, the entrance areas should receive a high priority, being cleaned thoroughly every day.  Other areas such as Medical, Cafeteria and Break, Labs, and Clean Rooms should receive a Primary frequency of cleaning, established to meet the health or production criteria of the particular area.

Secondary (Daily- Weekly)– Cleaning within non-critical areas should be performed in a cost efficient basis that will remove the most visible defects on a daily schedule, secondary or less noticeable defects on a weekly schedule,

Projects (Monthly - Annually)- This involves the type of cleaning that is typically done on an annual schedule.  Tasks like extraction, stripping and finishing, exterior glass, etc.  The environment of the building or priority of the tenants could change this typical frequency from annual to monthly.
